One World Observatory provides visitors from across the globe with spectacular views of New York City and the surrounding region from above 1,250 feet. The 120,000 SF facility on three floors opened in 2015. It features spectacular views of New York, the harbor and New Jersey with cutting-edge digital technology, dining options, a gift shop, special events space and the “See Forever” theater.

The design and construction of One World Observatory was a complex Design/Build project, begun as a competition entry to the Port Authority in response to an RFP, our winning proposal for the project had to be completed within 24 months, on budget. Our team worked with JRM Construction on the project in a design-build partnership, allowing us to deliver the completed project in the condensed timeframe for on-site construction of just twelve months. This project required the approval of the Port Authority and the concurrence of the NYC Building Department. As Architect we worked very closely with all the project stakeholders to manage the design and construction to meet the budget and schedule requirements proposed in the RFP response. Many aspects of the technology and guest experience are unique, and we remain active today with Legends to renovate and improve the facility to maintain its worldwide status.
